Written Case Reports

(Success Reports; Morbidity/Mortality Reports)


Description

Written reports will be used as part of the learning activities as well as of the evaluation tools in the GS I Division.

For the trainees, written reports will be useful in the learning of the following as they are performed, stated, described, and subjected to constructive criticisms:

1. Medical recording

2. Medical writing

3. Clinical diagnosis

4. Preop preparations

5. Operative management

6. Postop care

7. Management of morbidities

8. Follow-up care

9. Final diagnosis

For the faculty, through the written reports, the trainees can be evaluated for the elements of learning mentioned above.

Implementation and Mechanics

The trainees will be give formats and criteria in the evaluation of written reports.

The trainees will be instructed as to what type and as to how many typewritten reports to submit. The reports will be evaluated by the faculty based on a set of criteria. Feedback will be given thereafter to the trainees.
